The Talents and ideas of anybody will become noticeable through face to face conversations, not by means of instructions and/or assignments.
This can be done through personal, individual coaching and/or team coaching. We promise that the potential capacities of the coachee will be released, in order to maximize the performance. After all, skilled coaches contribute to development and personal growth. They stimulate coachees to follow their own pathways, whereby they can take responsibility and thus further develop. Furthermore, every co-worker within organizations has the fundamental need to be respected and appreciated. For this reason, good coaches go to the personal level with the coachee, in order to facilitate the motivation and inspiration of co-workers and/or teams.
Coaching is thus getting the best out of the other through extending the awareness and appealing to responsibility ? coaching is improving the self control by a very specific support of the process.
For us, personal growth coaching is a dynamic process, consisting of 4 phases:
- Goal: defining the situation/state one wants to achieve
- Reality check: comparing the desired state with the current state
- Options: identifying methods and approaches to solve the discrepancy
- Willingness: defining and adhering to an action plan and monitoring its outcome
Coaching is the temporary support of e.g. a top executive, a (line) manager or a co-worker in order to optimize performance in what for this person is useful within the environment where s/he is (or will be) employed. With the coach, the coachee will investigate how certain things are currently being approached, the effects hereof on him/her and others, but also on the targeted results.
What are the automatisms in behaving and thinking? And do those automatisms support the coachee in achieving the goals?
Coaching is about DIS-covering talents, broadening of the conscious ‘being’ to further make clear choices and to tune the future deeds.
Coaching is focussed on the ‘present’ without searching for possible root causes in the past.
Coaching is a means to have people profit from their full capacity.
Some circumstances, difficult to change, are characterized through people being fixed in their ideas, beliefs and things that seem to be obvious. Coaching is focused on getting across limiting patterns, so availability is created to develop new ideas and behavior. As a result, you or your co-workers will be motivated to make new (and other) choices to initiate the desired change. By doing so, you achieve the results being set for you and your organization.
Things a coach does (not)?
A coach supports you to:
- Consciously increase your “ownership” of your professional and personal life
- Determine your destiny
- An intensification of the learning process from your experiences
- Look into the mirror with the eyes of another person
- Better understand interactions with others
- Have an insight in what it is all about
- Go into dialogue with your thoughts and feelings.
- Decrease obstructive (mental) blockades
- Investigate different solutions
- Take decisions more consciously
- Further crystallize ideas and intentions
- Appeal on your energy sources
- Work fromout your strengths to work and live
A coach will NOT:
- Tell you what you ‘must’ do
- Take things out of your hands
- Take a therapeutic approach
Confidentiality
Personal and/or profesional development is very sensitive for many individuals. That is why you can count on our utmost discretion. This means that the content of the coaching conversations is fully confidential, and the feedback to the customer (e.g. line manager) is solely about the progression (not the details) of the compentencies initially identified as ‘to be optimized’. We thus guarantee full discretion and confidentiality to our coachees.
Frequency and duration of a coaching path
Experience indicates that an average frequency of 1 x every 3-4 weeks leads to an optimal result for the coachees. The coachee has the opportunity to practice in between the different sessions and to self-reflect. Most clients opt for minimal 5 and maximal 10 sessions, of each 1.5 – 2 hours. The duration of each session depends on the wishes of the coachee and the used method by the coach.
