Introduction to Oncology
Lately I attended the ‘Introduction to Oncology’ training organized by The Clinical College. As I never participated in studies in Oncology, this was a completely new therapeutic field to me.

Why:
To improve the competency of our representatives to read, understand and be able to interpret better Clinical Studies.
Increase the understanding of clinical studies and allow our interactions with Dr’s/specialist to be at a higher scientific quality.
What:

Clinical studies in general: very good explanation of the definitions and terminology used in clinical studies and relation to its relevance of the physician.
Exercises with our own and competitor clinical studies.
Open and interesting Q&A sessions during the training.
Outcome:
All participants reported being more comfortable talking about clinical studies and are better equipped to really discuss the results with their Dr’s.
The intention is to grow the competence of our representatives to increase the quality of their scientific interactions with their audience.
This training was perceived as very relevant and was given in an open, constructive and knowledgeable way by the TCC trainer. We intend to use TCC further to continue growing our field force in their scientific competence.

On-the-job coaching
We consulted The Clinical College for guidance with the conduct of clinical trials in volunteers. The advice primarily focused on support for the adaptation of in house clinical trial protocols to meet the ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. The tailored practical advice provided by The Clinical College was of great help in the further optimization of our protocols.
